EMBODIED Magazine is NYU Gallatin's arts and culture publication, covering art, popular culture, and style. We embrace Gallatin School’s interdisciplinary approach to culture; openly exploring style and art, with the belief that doing so heightens understanding. I serve on the editorial board as the photography director.
Spring 2026
My last contribution to Embodied was my senior year at Gallatin, released in April of 2026. The theme of this issue revolved around creativity and subversion, where we attempted to tackle questions such as: What does it mean to be creative? Is subversion the only way to be creative? Where do we draw the line between inspiration and copying? Is it creative to source and reproduce a reference? How “original” does work have to be to be creative?
Our cover star featured the interdisciplinary artist, Ava Hudson, whose practice explores how materials and technology shape the way we live and connect. As always, this was brought into fruition by amazing Aria Kothari as the creative director and designer of the magazine.
ZINE-FALL 2025
Our theme for this zine this fall was “Temptation”, inspired by the Chinese zodiac of 2025, Year of the Snake. It deals with the concept of bodily temptation in a non-romantic/sexual context, dealing with temptation as a point of intimate connection between two people. Creative director Aria Kothari and I shot it in my apartment on the Lower East Side.
The models featured are Alec Tiffou and Eva Salvatierra.
Spring 2025
Our theme for this spring was Artemis, the mythological Greek goddess. We wanted to portray beauty through the natural world. Fierceness, divinity, femininity and matriarchy are all present as well as the undertones and hues of green and pink. Creative director Aria Kothari and I got to go around the Lower East Side and Brooklyn with our lovely model Megh Basu, dressed in angelic white.
Spring 2024
The magazine’s theme for 2024 was Disembodied: the disembodiment of the individual, the self, the woman. I was able to cultivate this into reality with my friend and model, Sami Bates and with our visionary and creative director, Aria Kothari
